The Dark Theatres of Narcoriel introduced the type of drama now known as the 'theatre of involuntary cruelty', where all the actors are in fact kidnapped citizens, who are exposed to illusory scenarios of extreme violence and/or horror, while their genuine terror is broadcast to the audience via mind magic.
