Dragonborn

Eladrin

Kobolds, but Tieflings a close second. Tieflings were my favored in 3.5e.

+2 damage with longswords & spears? Eladrin, baby. And teleporting is cool too.

I went with eladrin because I've already got a 3.5 dragonborn PC and I made up a tiefling PC ages ago for a 3.0 game that never happened.

Tieflings---because Bael Turath is just about the best fallen empire I've seen in years.

Eladrin -- nice to see high elves as a campaign default. I didn't like it at first, but once it saw play I did.

Um, I think you left out a few races there.

I'm going to say Humans, both mechanic and fluff-wise. In a world of magical beings and monsters humans may be the most "ordinary", but I subscribe to the ideal that even in a fantasy world humans will come out on top as being the most malleable, adaptable race there is. And will probably survive till the end of time.

I'd have to say Teifling, because I like their style.

Dragonborn come in second, because everybody likes dragons, and they have an honorable warrior ethical thing, which is pretty cool.

Dead last comes Eladrin. I'm an anti-elf advocate, and having two elves in the PHB made me die a little inside. As a plus, though, regular Elves lost their arrogant, better-than-thou parts and became regular wood elves, who are much less annoying.

I like the T-i-e-f-l-i-n-g, but I voted for the Dragonborn because it is made of pure win.

Yea, Eladrin are pretty much the elves from before. There merely brought in wood elves as a playable race and renamed the previous standard elf race into "Eladrin" I guess so there would be some kind of distinction.

I, too, am somewhat of an elf-hater. Not because of elves themselves, really. I think I've just met too many people on and offline that take elf fandom way too far. These are people who actually sit down and study the Tolkien language of elves, have long discussions about elf history and culture like they were real and probably wish they were elves themselves. I can't really explain why, but this has given me some kind of primal aversion to elves in general. Unconsciously I compare them to Furries and Japanophiles I guess.
