I voted Cardinal of the Kremlin. It seemed to capture the feeling of Cold War espionage. My favoite book overall may be Red Storm Rising.

I really havent read anything since I think Debt of Honor..the last one I took seriously was Sum of All Fears, but Ryan as President just seemd wrong somehow..dunno.

Jack Ryan seems like the Drizzt of the military industrial complex :)

Agreed. Cardinal of the Kremlin is an absolutely fantastic Cold War espionage novel, and is easily one of my very favorite of Clancy's novels.

Red Rabbit is also a Cold War espionage novel, but it moves at a much slower pace and has a much less interesting plot than Cardianal of the Kremlin. In fact, Red Rabbit is probably my least-favorite Tom Clancy novel.
