Favorite Campaign setting

Since it says nowhere in this thread that we are limited to d20 settings, I'll nominate Transhuman Space. Now there's an awsome SF setting - and a possible future history that I'd like to experience myself.

As far as d20 setting go, I'd say Planescape, Dark Sun, and, of course, Urbis. :D

Hombrews are always the best :)

Midnight has been very appealing to me and it is a wonderful setting, remins me of WFRP, dirty, dangerous and grim. :)

Earthdawn, I know not a d20 campiagn world but damn what detail and story.

Scarred Land has to be on everyones list, it is very good fantasy (FR is standard fantasy) lot of ideas and thought and have a more real world feel (living, people are different).

Iron Kingdom has a lot of material that I am looking for in a campiagn setting, call it steam punk but I feel drawn to it.

Nyambe wonderful setting and off the beaten path dealing with standard fantasy.

The problem with Earthdawn was that all that detail was crammed into one country - about half the current Ucraine, iirc. Jungle, Desert, Mountains etc. all within a few weeks of travel on foot. Outside Barsaive there was a big nothing. The Thera Sourcebook added some locations, but not with details.

My top 5:
1) Forgotten Realms
2) Al-Qadim
3) Planescape
4) Rokugan
5) Spelljammer

And, I can meld them all together in one giant campaign.

Greyhawk! (represent!) :D

I haven't run a game in it but Kalamar is a nice setting (as far as reading goes...we'll see how it plays).

Kingdoms of Kalamar, hands down.

I did like the Stard Drive and Dark Matter settings. I'm consdiering mixing Dark Matter with Second World (from second world simulations).

I used to use FR almost exclusively. The areas and material are quite rich.

However, as of late, I am tending to use my own home brew world. The birthing process can be painful at times and the players have a way of making you think twice about every element that you drop into the mix. However in the end you will have a world that is almost all you (give some credit to your players when they criticize something you have done).

DragonLance

My favourite has always been Dragonlance although Scarred Lands comes a close second.

Dragonlance has always held my love as it was the Chronicles novels that drew me into D&D in the first place. The setting has always fitted my style of gaming.
