I can't wait for the first traditional animation movie made the Pixar way. Hopefully they can get the animation division truly revived longer than Disney managed to (IMO, they were out of steam after Mulan, other than Lilo and Stitch, which almost feels like something from another studio).billd91 said:I'm not sure it would matter whether they did or didn't. The distribution deal may have made Pixar characters Disney property, but I believe Pixar had creative control of the movies without Disney interferance. Now, Pixar runs Disney animation and I'm happy as a clam.
Wow, thanks to this post I learned something. I had heard that Disney had shut down all of its remaining traditional feature animation studios and would only be doing CG from now on. Turns out that when Pixar was bought and Lassiter took over the studios he and others decided to revive traditional animation. Their first release is slated for 2009 with "The Princess and the Frog." Cool. I enjoy CG animation, but I think there is a place for the art of traditional animation as well.Whizbang Dustyboots said:I can't wait for the first traditional animation movie made the Pixar way.
