Favorite Movie Entrance

Connery in Prince of Thieves rules. The whole theatre gasped at that :)

The Spaceship from Spaceballs

Jake and Elwood Blues

The entrances of Harmonica, Cheyenne and Frank in Once upon a time in the west

Richard Gere in Chicago

But of course, Vader topps them all :)

EDIT: This thread how great movies are. You read about a scene and suddenly the whole meovie is before your eyes, and you feel all giddy again. In fact, I'd now like to opo in every movie in tha thread. But since I gotta work in 10 hours and sleep in between, I'll stick with Buffy :)

I'm going to step back a few minutes from Vader's entrance, and point to the Star Destroyer. It might not be a speaking part, but it's a damned cool entrance :)

It's my favorite piece of movie making ever. I can still remember the feeling of watching that for the first time as a kid, "Oh man is thing ever going to end! It's huge!!!!!!!"

Omar Sharif's entrance in Lawrence of Arabia is good. He rides in from the desert on a camel (from the far distance) and then shoots someone for drinking at his oasis.

Frank'n'furter coming down the elevator in Rocky Horror

Teri Garr's in Young Frankenstein: "Vould you like a roll in ze hay?" Heck, everyone's entrance in Young Frankenstein :)

Gene Wilder's entrance as the drunk Cheyenne Kid in Blazing Saddles:
Sheriff Bart "Are we awake?"
the Kid "That depends, are we black?"

Willie Wonka in Willie Wonka

Nothing tops Vader's entrance in the original Star Wars, but recent favorites include Jack Sparrow in POTC and Arwen in Fellowship of the Ring.

Blade's entrance at the beginning of Blade--thunderous footsteps, all the vamps scared to move, then the slow pan up to see Wesley Snipes all decked out in vampire killin' gear. Frickin' cool.

The balrog's entrance in FotR--from when he first causes a glow off in the distance and chases off the orcs until he leaps out of the wall of flames. Great stuff.

Damn it, I knew I was forgetting one.

I put together a mental list last night in anticipation of the thread being started... and Blade was on it.
