As much as I loved VII, I have to say IX was the best new one because of the tribute to the old games.. and the story was classic Final Fantasy.

I've disliked most of the newer Final Fantasy games. There really should be an "Other" option here. My favorite Final Fantasy is IV, but there's no place for me to even suggest that!

Barring that, maybe some sort of option for upcoming games? The only one I'm really looking forward to now if Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and maybe Crystal Chronicles.

I liked 7 and 9, seven comes out on top.

8 and 10 sucked IMO.

This applies to movies, tv, and video games, but may the Gods save me from whiny teen angst. I just can't stand any of the characters anymore.

I voted FF7, but FFX is a great game as well. I didn't pick it because I actually haven't beaten it yet. I'm at the end (as I'm told by friends) but just haven't had the time to lay the smackdown on the last bosses.

I'm going to have to agree with the FF Tactics thing, too. That game was Great (not my all time fav, that changes all the time). Took me FOREVER to beat but was insane fun. Maybe the only game I can remember in recent time where the game timer was stuck at all nines long before I finished it.

I voted for VII too. For me, this was the game that got me back into video gaming, and got me to buy a PS. I loved the steampunkness of that game.

It seems that subsequent games have been attempts by Square to make more and more interactive movies. VII was a step in that direction, but just had so much charm.

FF Tactics was great too. Brought back all the job classes-hard but it rocked.

I really wish Square/Enix would do a tactical rpg sequel to FFT for the PS2. That, babe, would be sweet.

LOL. No I was under the influence of that MS commercial (I think) where the manager of a rock band is planning putting stuff on the website. He says babe what seems like a lot. Ive seen that commercial waay too much-babe

As for the GB FFT is it a different game or just a port? I was debating getting the new GB when it came out. I preordered it but then cancelled it. Theres probably not too many games I'd play even tho the GB is a good platform.
