Favorite Race And/Or Template?

I would have to vote for a Pixie Sorcerer. Improved Invis. plus spell casting. ahh that is a nice combination.
Pixie Rogues are scary. Especially Aeoun, the cherry-dipping Pixie Ninja from one of my campaigns...

We've already agreed as a group that you retain your memories/etc when I raise you as a greater undead, so if he retains memory and personality, he'll certainly continue to be playable, by my DM's standards.

Since I am the "Leader" of our little adventuring party, and I am a necromancer of no mean skill, everyone already knows they are all gonna come back eventually. The higher level I get, the better the undead they will come back as, also. Heh. I have a lot of fun with this character, aside from that momentary heart attack I had at Rystil's initial pronouncement. =)

Yeah number 5 sounds like the best way to go to me.
Ya, I happen to prefer number 5 or a 5-1 hybrid with templates instead of monster class levels (just because I adore templates). And when you mention above that in your game Bob becomes unplayable, that's perfectly reasonable too. I just like to have in the added variety avaliable depending on whether or not Bob's player wants to play the wight.

Heh, sorry about that :o. Fortunately, you were referring to a different thing than you thought ;)

In the campaign I play a Pale Master in, everyone knows that if they drop and there isn't a more expedient method (or if my character isn't too fond of theirs hehehe :] ) that I will animate them and make them walk back to town to get resurrected.

Serve me you will, my pretties! *cackle* Err, I also am a master of illusions to make my shambling hordes look and smell respectable. Hehe. Ohhhhh the fun.

You necromancers, you! My biggest adjudications came from weird character actions, such as the crazy evil elf wizard who became a crazy evil elf-shade who became a crazy evil elf-shade-baatezu who wanted to become more incognito so took an Alchemist's Apparatus to combine forms with a nymph (knowing his personality was too strong to fail an Ego check) and become an elf-shade-baatezu-nymph but then was screwed over by a Deck of Many Things draw that caused her to become chaotic good and then use psionics to remove the evil influence, leaving one bewildered nymph with arcane spells :D

Err, this used to be about templates. Not about my human pale master. Sorry for the self hijack!
My rule of thumb is that self-hijack is always acceptable. Also, tangential discussions that lead back to the main point are OK too, and may even get your name written in the thread (see jgbrowning, Rystil Arden, and Hypersmurf talk amongst themselves)
