3e (and to a greater extent, 3.5) fixed everything that was broken about D&D. I am sorry to see it cast down by Wizard's (entirely understandable) need to move product.

This seems to be a common feeling amongst 4e supporters. Until 4e, 1e was may favourite version of D&D. However, I feel that 4e is the first time that they have maintained the spirit of 1e whilst updating it with modern game design.
