One that would be more attractive and acceptable to humanoid societies rather than as a freakish thing to use as the ingredients for hallucinagenic potions by stoner wizards... A race of ambassadors to promote good relations between the fungi and humanoid communities across the planes

Even cooler, and the sort of thing I'd expect Amazons in the traditional sense to try to do. Though I'd expect them to dislike magic enough to be forced to provide service to some archwizard in return for the experiments. You could create an entire adventure or campaign out of variations on this. Such as having one of the PCs being the experimental guineapig. The party gets her back after being captured but before too long strange things start happening and in trying to find out why the insideous plot comes to light, etc, the usual.

And I must say though I voted for Dryads for the hawt factor Myconids are cool too. Especially in densely forested or tropical areas.

Interesting that every option had a vote. I think that means it was a well-done poll. I did appreciate that there was a selection for the pedantic. Those are fun folks to game with.

I chose the Aldryami - it was great that Trolls in RQ could meet their religious duty to eat vegetables by consuming an elf!
