[FDP] New Counter Collection packaging rocks!

First Post
I picked up Counter Collection 5 today, and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that you've changed the packaging -- the little tin is excellent! Not only does it look better, it gives me something to store my larger counters in, and it means the sheets are smaller (and therefore easier to handle while cutting them apart).

Hopefully CC Gold is packaged the same way -- nice move, FDP! :D

Hi Hairro,

Yep -- Counter Collection Gold is in the same kind of metal tin as CC5 Summoned Creatures. It's so stuffed that it will pop open once you open the shrinkwrap.

One of the most requested features for our counters over the years has been some form of storage/transportation, and we feel that the metal tins make it easy to keep your counters and bring them to your game.

Counter Collection Gold is available at retail -- it shipped to distribution nearly 2 months ago now, so if you don't see it at your game store, make them order it! It features a ton of creatures -- perforated in this set -- and 12 Adventure Tiles from Ed Bourelle.

I like it a lot!

Hajiro, make sure you don't miss the web-enhancements for CC5:

- "Unfamiliar Familiars", with the stats for the new familiars and animal companions featured in CC5 (wild cat, wild rooster, ostrich, armadillo, mongoose, bighorn sheep, etc): http://www.fierydragon.com/Familiars.pdf

- "Missing Counters", with a few creatures that escaped the assembly process. You can download them here, and they're also available in CC Gold: http://www.fierydragon.com/CC5_webenhancement.pdf

- "Colossal Monstrous Centipede", which was too large to fit the tin! http://www.fierydragon.com/Pix/monstr_centipede_colossal.jpg

You know, I started doing that money sucking miniatures thing. Now I am back to the occasional Reaper miniature, and TONS of FD counters! Thanks guys! Now get some modules out!

Special orders at my FLGS tend to take awhile -- I might just wait until GenCon and pick it up directly from you guys. I really enjoyed chatting with you at your booth last year, which is when I got hooked on your counters. ;)

Klaus (Claudio?), I've already DLed the web enhancements, but thanks for the links. FDP's site is in my regular "what's new?" rotation, so I drop by fairly often. :)

I'll overlook the fact that both of you managed to spell my username wrong...differently. :p

I know, Haairo, I know - can't dress 'em up *or* take 'em out. Clods or what, eh?

;)

Fnord! Borken!

[j/k, haiiro - you know, I've often wondered what your screen-name means, actually...]

It's a somewhat archaic form of the word "grey" in Japanese. :)

Edit: Heck, here's the full answer from the old January '03 username origins thread (I did a bit of digging in the archive):

"haiiro" is an archaic word for "grey" in Japanese. I identify strongly with the idea that the world is almost never black and white - things come in shades of grey, myself included. I think that also means I take these things too seriously. ;)

I focused on Asian Studies in college (which made a big impression on me) and I've always liked using something slightly unusual (to me) for usernames. I've been haiiro online for around 2-3 years now, and it fits like a glove. It's very rarely taken, which is nice. ;)

Interesting. I'm always interested when I see words I don't recognize. Sadly, it's been about 6 years now since my last Japanese course, and I get very little opportunity to practice, so I think I've forgotten most of it. That means there are a lot more words I don't recognize these days... ;)

Cheers,
Scott

haiiro (a-ha!) -> Thanks for dropping by the FDP site. I assume you already got the (extensive) web-enhancements for CC Gold as well! What did you think of "Unfamiliar Familiars" and the CCGold new monsters (since I wrote 'em, I'm always eager for feedback)?
