Feats in _Masters of the Wild_

In the feats section of Masters of the Wild, they have certain feats that are marked with an asterisk. There's only one thing these feats have in common that I can tell - They all look like reasonable feats to allow the fighter to take as bonus feats. Can the Fighter take the various improved Toughness feats as bonus feats?

That is exactly what they mean. It's said in the text at the beginning of the feat section. Many, many pewople missed it.
