Well...

Today, I found out that an acquaintance of mine, with whom I'd been carrying on a game-related e-mail discussion a little over a week ago, just committed suicide.

My wife's place of employment just decided she's "not fitting in", and while they've not booted her out the door, they've asked her to start looking for a new place to work.

I've got a cold, and I have to go be a substitute teacher for middle-school kids today.

Cheer up, nothing is so bad you have to start using "frell" in normal language.

As for your wife's job, look at it as fate. She was meant to move to something new.

If you dwell on the worry and fear, you might join your friend in giving up, and
that solves nothing. Break out a gaming book, sit back, drink some hot tea for
you cold, and take it easy. Life is amazingly strange...you wanna miss out on it?

I find that getting older is preferable to the alternative, myself. It helps to keep things in perspective.
