Feinting in combat and dual sneak attack?

O.K. here's my question...

If the reason you get the extra attack is because the foe is denied DEX bonus, why wouldn't you get sneak damage on an attack where the foe is denied DEX?

Because once you get the extra attack (with sneak attack), the target's dex bonus comes back. (unless they are flanked, in which it doesn't, or the person is stunned or something, or you have something like improved invis or blink on). I was thinking this was the case, but I wanted to be sure.

Yeah, it makes sense now.

The feint grants sneak damage to first attack and then you get the "free extra attack” without sneak damage.

It seems too powerful to grant the extra d6's on both attacks.

Thanks for explaining it to the rookie

e

Sure does, but I could always hope ;-)

Otherwise I could use Quicker than the Eye or the Gladiator PRC Improved Feint ability to Feint in Combat as a move equiv. action, which would trigger Expert Tactician and give me two free sneak attacks, and then I would get another sneak attack for my partial action, for a total of 3 sneak attacks in one round.

I take it you're Hasted?

dual = two, so two weapon attack.

I know what dual means, but "dual attack" is meaningless in regards to the rules, which is why I asked. I thought it might have been a kind of attack you can pull off with a feat or something.

Anyways...what drnuncheon said.

Okay, now I’m a little lost… Feinting… When you feint, do you immediately get an extra attack? I always took it that next round you got your dexless attack in. Is this incorrect? How would that work for abilities that render feinting a move equivalent or free action?
And what is this about Dual Attacks? I read something, somewhere, (SO many sources!) about an attack, wielding 2 weapons, that allowed you to make 1 attack roll, in place of a normal attack roll and one for the off-hand weapon, and hit with both at once, dealing damage with both in one hit. You added sneak attack damage, when appropriate, only once, but you got an extra weapon damage in there. Is this what is meant by Dual Attack? I have no idea when an attack like this would be beneficial, but… Oh well. If any of you could help clarify what’s being discussed, I’d be quite grateful.

Normally, feinting is a Standard action. The bonus (rather, the opponent's penalty, according to how you look at it) applies on your next attack. You do not get a bonus attack for feinting, just a bonus that is applied to your next attack.

The Gladiator PrC, mentioned above, allows Feinting as a move-equivalent action. They still don't get an extra attack, but usually get to use the bonus sooner since they still could have a Standard action with which to attack.

Hope this helps.
