[Feist] Legacy of the Riftwar

So, anyone know if Feist is ever planning to finish this damn series? He wrote the first three (ending with Tear of the Gods), and then went on to do other series. I'd really like to know if he's planning on wrapping this up--especially since I won't buy anything else of his until he does. (As both a reader and a writer, I refuse to condone that sort of thing.)

Anyone have any info?

That wasn't the end of it? It's been a while since I read them, but I thought the 3rd one wrapped it up (or at least lead into the next book chronilogically, which is one of his early ones)

If it leads into another series, it's not one I'm familiar with. I've read the Riftwar Saga (which I liked), the Serpentwar Saga (which I really didn't), and the various independent books that came between (i.e. Prince of the Blood).

Tear of the Gods leaves a lot hanging, and is very clearly not the end of the story, even if it was meant to be the end of the series...

Well, there was the Conclave of Shadows bit, another trilogy, Talons of the Silver Hawk, King of Foxes, and.. Exile's Return I think. Deals with some of that material on the edges of it.

His big bad nameless though isn't the main baddy of it this time around.

I've got those books in science fiction bookclub hardcover editions. If you're interested in reading 'em, how about $15 bones for media mailing and I'll send 'em out to you with a confirmation number. You can kill your brain for an afternoon or three.

Actually, if you read Feist's posts, the current series (Talon of the Silver Hawk, King of Foxes, and Exile's Return) are actually the first three book in a six book series. He who won't be named is actually behind what's going on.....and it's going to all blow up in Book 4, because the next Riftwar is supposed to start, and take 2-3 books to resolve..basically the rest of the series. But the fight against the big bad evil is *why* the Conclave of Shadows exists, and why Talon's involved in the first place.

There are even tentative names for them, though I haven't looked for a while, and don't remember. They're listed at or www.crydee.com though.

Appreciate the offer, Joe. But I think I'm going to wait until the series is entirely complet, and then decide if I'm interested.

Right now, I'm still pissed at him for the Legacy of the Riftwar. If an author is writing a series that isn't self-contained and is going to lead into another series, I expect that fact to be made clear. It's the same thing with books where you only find out on the last page that it's book 1 of a series, you know? I despise being strung along.

I do, however, very much appreciate everyone's efforts to point me in the right direction.
