Right, we had some bad rolls in a game, and my cleric-barbarian-fighter was significantly below average on HP.delericho said:After one too many instances where a set of bad rolls led to a Fighter with real problems doing his job (such that it was affecting the enjoyment of the game - I like my D&D heroic), we instituted a fixed hit points scheme:
"tough to be you" didn't really cut it when the character is inffective and it was easy to change PC's.
So, instead of being able to play the PC I had, I swapped to another PC. The game is supposed to be fun, not a trial.

We did have a DM that had the "roll, with minimum of your Con bonus".
So my Gnome wizard with toad was 9 HP per level (con 20). I had more HP than most of the party, but a +5 con will do that.
