Feminist adventures?

Well it's semi-feminist related and also just off the top of my head without a lot of forethought. But maybe a defense contractor good ol' boy network has someone or group that steals an idea for super weapon from female employee. She gets mad, and threatens to blow the whistle on illegal activities at the company. The top guy gets scared and has super-villain friend capture the woman, or is a super-villain himself and captures the woman. The woman who knows the PC super-hero is a champion of women's rights somehow gets a message to her.

Feminism can tie into the adventure that way. Also you can adjust the specifics to fit your own ideas better or improve anything I mentioned you'd like to use.

Wild stab in the dark here, but maybe the player is thinking Sarah Connor, Buffy, Alice - affirmative intelligent roles that tackle or put down sexist attitudes whenever, wherever encountered.

There's much edgier territory in say The Girl Who Played with Fire or The Lovely Bones but, IMO, it's hard to see how such themes are suitable for a game or entertainment.

How about fighting actual FemiNazis: not the Rush Limbaugh charicatures of the feminist movement, but actual Feminists who have embraced the fascism, racism, eugenics and SS mysticism of the Nazis in order to found a Matriarchal Reich? In a supers campaign, they may even adopt Valküri-esque attire...or have those kinds of powers.

Hmmm...tall, blonde, blue-eyed, sword-wielding, denim/leather/chainmail wearing, BMW sport-bike riding, man-hating, racist fascist women? They'd give the entire feminist movement a black eye. The Norse Bikini Volleyball Team of Hate!

"Nazi Feminist" seems a contradiction in terms to me - Nazism strongly emphasises traditional gender roles - but Fascism is/was a Progressive, Modernist ideology with a strong Feminist component. I attended a fascinating seminar at my University a while back which discussed Feminism in the Franco regime in Spain (a Nationalist government which mixed Italian-style modernist Fascism with more Traditionalist elements). If anything it seemed significantly more Feminist than eg Soviet Communism, encouraging women to become lawyers, judges, government ministers and such.

Of course I don't think this player wants to spend all her time fighting other (misguided) Feminists! As others have said, talking to the player about what she wants to do is the best approach.

True- and that would be where they differ from the originals. The world is full of splinter groups & subgroups that share ideology with bigger groups but vary on one or two key points. I know I was flabbergasted when first I heard of the Log Cabin Republicans.

I would first sit down with the woman that wants to defend women's rights and ask her what her expectations are about defending women's rights. Without giving away too much, would she be okay with both defending women's rights, but also defending men from a super-villainess that wants to subjugate men (maybe she claims its in response to centuries of male oppression of women, but it's really for another sinister purpose...)

What I might want to do is maybe start small, but have a background story about an upcoming election (Senator, Governor or even President. Congressional Rep is too minor)
The favorite candidate/incumbent is a male and seems well out in front in the early polls, but a radical/reactionary type challenges him to a primary and makes a media impression with some bombastic statements about women (women should be home and in the kitchen (barefoot & pregnant), women should be subservient to their husbands, etc Basically like one of those articles from the 1950s about how to be a good wife). The bombastic pol makes little impression in the polls, but his small group of followers is very enthusiastic. Surprisingly, a decent percentage of them are women. (Say the polls are 70-30 against the bombastic pol)

However, the male politician (the incumbent, maybe?) gets rocked by a huge scandal right before the primary. (Dead girl/live boy type) The radical/reactionary pol wins the primary in a shocker. (Maybe the bombastic pol has some sort of mind control power?)

This could involve the players or not, or you could have it as background "news" for flavor.

Then, you have the bombastic guy against <fill-in-the-blank> for the general election. The opponent is again way out in front in the polls of bombastic guy, and there could be all sorts of ways to get involved: the bombastic guy maybe tips his hand somehow; or the "regular" pol gets wind of something and approaches the players for help/protection; or maybe the small core of followers starts to get violent...and, maybe a female follower shakes herself free of the mind control and approaches the players, saying that he has an army of enslaved women and intends to use his new platform as governor, senator or president to enslave women across the country.

Eh, I did most of my SMART stuff earlier in the thread.

The battles for feminism's goals just generally aren't suited to solving via fisticuffs and eye-lasers. Not too many power-armored megalomaniacs threatening the nations of the world with his Killer Satellites if they don't agree to take the right to vote away from women and all that.

Bizarre odd stuff of the day: the Nazis had something along the lines you suggest on the go, with a plan to 'impregnate' Scandinavia.
