(OOC: Sure--just go up and edit that in :) I wonder if his thought process would be different if he realised that she encountered what was to her a strange monstrous creature, since I went back and noticed he refers to it as a boar in his thoughts on the last page :D)

"I got a good whiff a Daphnie's perfume while I was at th' mayor's house... if we head back ta camp, we might be able ta find someone who smells like 'er, at least a little bit. An' that'd be pretty hard t'explain."
"That is unlikely to help with what happened to Scarlet", Oirhandir thought, "but if there are two mysteries, it might solve the other." "There is much to do", said the elf as he tried to work out an answer to the riddle. "There is a chance Troi might notice something if he can be shown the precise place that Scarlet was attacked. He might also determine if Daphne has a secret lover by visiting the Freefolk camp. Also, we need to make sure Ingus's wagons are guarded, and I would like enough rest to allow me to regain the magic that I used today. Troi, does either task require haste?"

OoC: First, I edited both posts to fit.

Second, I don't think his thought processes would have changed much unless it came out specifically in the conversation that Lasair didn't know what a boar was. I just spent the last 5 minutes trying to convince myself that either that information would or would not have come out in the conversation had Oirhandir not known what kind of critter it was, and I just couldn't do it...I can't predict how it would have gone. I do think that Oirhandir would have thought that if was the sort of thing that Lasair could have "convinced to not fight" with her "magical" powers, then she ought have known it was "just a beast" and not something that was the living embodiment of all the evil in the village.

What promptedt the outburst was Oirhandir's perception that, up until now, Lasair's eccentricities were mostly harmless, and perhaps a source of amusement. He's just had his nose rubbed in the fact that 1), not only does Lasair have a lot of incorrect ideas about some things, but 2), she is getting rather inflexible in adapting her thought processes to the changing realities, to the point that she's (in his eyes) becoming a detriment to the party. Or, to put it another way, to Oirhandir, her eccentricities have gone from being "fun" to being a Royal PITA.

Oirhandir
"Troi, does either task require haste?"

"Scent's get cold jus' like any other trail." He says calmly. "I could prolly get a scent 'bout three, maybe four hours old, an' not 'ave a problem wit' it - might even be able ta get one older'n that. Depends on how strong th' scent is ta begin with... but I'd say findin' th' one in th' camp is gonna be th' hardest, as Daphnie's scent prolly isn't gonna be too strong ta begin with. It sounds like, when ya found Scarlet bein' dragged off er whatnot, ya were in th' woods... findin' odd scents in there shouldn't be too much of a problem, since there prolly aren't gonna be a buncha other scents ta mess with it."

"That makes sense. Sounds like a good idea. Keep in mind that as a last resort, if we want honest answers from a particular suspect, I can massage their ziivash with mental bliss, causing them to find joy in making me happy and plant a strong Attraction in their mind...It should be hard for them to keep anything from me after that."

"Nay", Oirhandir replied, "the attack on Scarlet occurred at Lord Valdor's camp, in the south fields."

Oirhandir
"Nay, the attack on Scarlet occurred at Lord Valdor's camp, in the south fields."

Troi shrugs. "Well, that might make it a bit more difficult... kinda weird that they'd come after 'er righ' in th' middle a th' camp, y'know? But either way, so long as there hasn't been lots a people comin' an' goin' 'round there, I should be able ta fin' th' scent. But I'm not makin' any promises, so don't get yer hopes up. I'm jus' sayin' that I should be able ta find a trail if there's one ta be found."

Oirhandir was frustrated, but saw that his own words were the cause of the frustration, not Troi's. "Troi, do you have an idea which attempt might be more urgent? Were it up to me, I'd lead you to the spot in Valdor's camp where it happened, then return here for my watch. You could then spend as much of the evening as you preferred, either trying to pick up her abductor's scent, or trying to pick up Daphne's scent in the Freefolk camp, or both."
