"Hiya, my name's Lasair--what's yours? I'm trying to convince my companions to treat you more lightly than they did your boss Phineus, but it seems like they really hate bandits, and you did attack us first, so I'm having a little trouble convincing them to be nice. All I ask is that you answer some questions for me--is that OK?" Lasair smiles kindly.

*Lasair comforts the whimpering man gently.*

"Don't worry. I'll try my best to protect you. Just answer me a few questions, OK? Now you mentioned it was all Phineus's idea, right? Why was he attacking people here? It looks like he stockpiled quite a bit of gold for himself, while you three had none...Also, from whom did you raid your money? Did you recognise anyone in particular? If not, do you know from which village they came, whether they were poor farmers or wealthy travellers, or anything else? I'm really hoping you know something about this, and that you tell me the truth, so that I can tell my friends and they won't hurt you. But please don't lie to me. You know what a Telepath is, right? We have power over the Zivaash which lets me see in your mind...so...just tell the truth--iand if you don't know anything and you are honest, I'll still do my best to help you. Lie to me, though, and I don't want to be your friend anymore."

"Phineus came up with the idea. He knew a lot of merchants cross this bridge to get to the Festival of Halina. He said we'd just hit up a few of them, and we'd be set for a year. We looked for ones that were lightly guarded and looked like they had enough money that they'd rather pay than fight. Phineus was holding the money till we got back to split it. He said no one would get hurt. I couldn't tell you who we got it all from, We'd only seen 2 or 3 caravans today. Was supposed to pick up more as the festival got closer."

He looks truely shaken seems to want nothing more than to be let free and get as far away as he can.

"Oh, I see. Bad luck you picked us then. I guess Phineus should have noticed our big orc, Fang. So, just a few caravans? Hmm...it should be easy to return the money to the owners then. If we give back the money to the rightful owners, and you really never hurt anyone, then I will tell my friends that I think we should let you all go. But first, I'll insert a Mindspy into you that will tell me if you ever try to use threats of violence on honest folk again."

*Lasair dissipates her Vigour power that was wearing off anyways, creating a thin layer of ectoplasm on her skin and triggering a familiar scent that releases a forgotten nostalgic memory.*

"There we go. You'll be safe as long as you don't do anything mean, OK?"

He nods, cowering. "What about my friends?" He nods his head towards the other who who still remain unconsious and wounded, but stable.

"If they share similar sentiments and agree to live more compassionately in the future, I will let them off with the same that I gave you, if I can...is there anything else you would like to tell me before I go off to convince my companions? They appear to be more of the 'There's bandits? Beat 'em up and take all there stuff' crowd, so any little bit will help."

"Take our stuff, I don't care, just let me go. I'll swear for them to, just let us go, you can keep the gold, you can keep our stuff."
