Festival of Halina (Orsal Judging)

Lasair tends to the fallen men, and is able to stabilize the two of them. She manages to bind the unconsious one just before he awakens, though seeing all his comrads fallen, he is silent. Unfortunately, Phineus was wounded to severely, and Lasair was not able to get there in time.

The other men were all wearing studded leather, had a long sword, a light crossbow, and 20 bolts. The armor of the first man Fang hit is in no condition to wear, and is likely unrecoverable. Phineus was wearing a chain shirt that appears very finely crafted, had a long sword, a light crossbow, and 20 bolts. The men had no money on them, but their armor and weapons were kept in good repair. Phineus had a bag on him carying 330 gold, 53 silver, and 76 copper. Many of the coins are of different print, indicating that the coins are likely not all from the same source. Elise scans the bandits, but finds nothing of interest.

Ingus steps out of the caravan when the comotion dies down. He sees the fallen bandits and smiles. Ingus nods to Oirhandir "Yes, indeed I did. Well done."

Oirandir is able to recover his stray arrow.

Ingus says "Yes, a short rest would probably be good, especialy while you deal with the bodies. If they have anything salvagable, I'd be willing to sell if for you at the festival. I can likely get you close to new if it's well kept. Consider it my way of thanking you for your service."

Oirhandir approached the injured bandit and knelt beside him. Looking into the man's eyes, he murmured, "I think I've figured out a way to enhance one of my spells, and I'd like to practice on you. Hold still, you'll thank me if this works."

With that, he began chanting in the language of dragons as the man's wounds began to knit.[sblock]Cure Light Wounds on the surviving bandit[/sblock]

OOC: Just to straighten this out, there are 2 stabilized but unconsious bandits, and one bandit Elise knocked unconsious with her color spray, which is the one that was tied up just before he awoke, and he is uninjured. The other two are knocked out but strable.

"The amount of gold that Phineus has is large, somewhere around 10 years' worth of wages for a labourer, and way way more than four families would need to survive. If he already had this much and was practising banditry for more, he was a greedy and heartless man. I propose that we take the gold to the nearest village and attempt to find the rightful owners, perhaps taking the unconscious men with us to see if they can be convinced to give up their predatorial ways with their leader gone, or at least brought to justice."

Troi shakes his head. "Nice gesture an' all, but think 'bout it fer a minute." He takes a seat on the ground and looks up at Lasair. "People're greedy by nature, y'know? So if ya come inta town sayin' ya got a lotta cash, an're lookin' fer th' owner, what makes ya think 'at any of 'em're gonna be honest 'bout it an' not try ta get it fer 'emselves?"

"'sides, who knows where th' cash came from. This guy coulda been robbin' people left an' right on this bridge fer weeks, takin' from caravans goin' to an' from Orussus, y'know? It'd be impossible ta figure out who it belongs to. In th' hands a 'dventurers, though..." He smiles. "If we use th' money to our advantage, then we can get better stuff an' continue ta take on bigger threats ta th' world at large an' whatnot, fer th' good of all, y'know?"

Elise thinks about it for a second. Speaking analytically I'm not sure how well everyone will feel about that, being how it is standard practice to split all spoils amongst the group. Pushing her glasses up. Seeing how we are going to or near the town of Covington we should take him there. As diverting course, we shouldn't. We have been given a job and as soon as this guard mission is over then you and I can find the true owners of our shares and return them... or maybe just give them to someone in need. Smiling gently
