Fey - the little people

When you think of little faerie people, what sort of creatures does that make you think of? (Small size or smaller, specifically)

Fey and Little People are two different things to me, but since you are asking for little Fey, I'd say Pixies, Sylphs, Sprites, Brownies, Goblins, Leprechauns, Clurichauns, and Nixies, just off the top of my head.

I think of the puck, Robin Goodfellow. Servant to some nature-master, and doer of mischevious deeds. Independent in spirit, and delighting in his naughtyness, but nevertheless loyal and loving of his lord and master.

I think of spritly people, like tinkerbell from Peterpan. I do think of Puck-like creatures also but mostly fairies.

The Slavic peoples had many, many fey, spirits,or minor divinities...Bannik, Domovoi and Domawiczka, Dedushka Dobrokhot, Dvorovoi, Kikimora, Kurinyi bog, Polewik. Bath, House, Good Luck, Yard, Spinner (of thread), Chickens (really), and Grain respectively. These are just some of the 'small' ones.

They can have a patronage with escue forms,lurkers,fiendfolio(orig.)smaller fiendishes,etc,the premise of evil work still may lay the Fey hand,as the simbiote between the scales and scales of farie dust fallen from a wing,churn

Using the vail of lies is so cultural for that which we will find in a campaign may certainly make the use of templated beasts as the Fey's workers,friends or evildoers

Fairies, pixies, sprites, boggarts, the usual. The Wee Folk. The Kindly Ones. Them Bloody Pests.

On Dragon Earth the fey are most definitely products of deital meddling. They also tend to be rather limited intellectually.

For instance, pixies (who stand 6" tall on the average), are about as smart as African Greys (parrots). Which is to say, all the brain power of a 5 year old human. Now try to picture a 5 year old with the sex drive of a 14 year old. Let me put it this way, Dragon Earth doesn't have sex education in school, it would be redundent.

And, yes, they are mischievous. Psychic (psionic) abilities, sex hormones, and a limited intellect. Life gets interesting during sprite mating season. And thanks to a sprite's innate telepathy it's when a lot of conceptions occur among non-sprites.

Yep, thanks to the Wee Folk, Dragon Earth is not a 'work safe' world.
