Note that I'm speaking as a diehard yugoloth fan here. I'd love a FCIII that's all yugoloths, and an FCIV that's all demondand, and keep going, but let's be realistic...these things have to sell.

Yep, as much as my namesake might say otherwise in-character, any book on 'loths pretty much requires the Demodands/Gehreleths as second billing, and the Larvae/Hordeling/Night Hag lifecycle as third billing. They're linked in too many ways to not do them all at once.

Plus, I'm afraid that extra space devoted to yugoloths alone won't result in more cool yugoloth lore or new creatures, but rather a bunch of feats and spells for PCs to fight them, planar touchstones, or other such filler.

Or, God help us, we'd end up with another Corruptor of Fate. ;)

(And if you want to split hairs, terlens, as magical beasts, aren't fiends.)

[derisive tone]And they're not only flying sharks, they're flying sharks that were originally from the prime material![/derisive tone] *grin*

But that's the problem. When will it ever get a chance to shine if it doesn't receive a chance at all?

From what I've gather in past editions, yugoloths were as prominent as the other 2 major fiends, but for some strange reason WotC did not carry this over into the 3rd Edition.

I consider my old gaming group your average 1e players and loths never rose to the level of demons or devils for us. Why should they have? Demons and Devils were already rife in literature and everyone had heard mentionof them before playing D&D, thus they had more going for them from the get go.

Gehreleths! How did I forget to give them a chapter? Apomps needs to be added to the "lords" section, and would ideally get at least ten pages of fluff.

Still plenty of room.

10 pages! that's awfully generous. how much text has Apomps had so far, less than a page? less than a column even? but it would be cool to see him get some development.

That's plenty! They only have 16 pages in Faces of Evil, and a number of those pages are dedicated to locations which would be covered in the locations chapter.

Yes, but Faces of Evil had no pictures or rules to get in the way. That makes a HUGE difference.

It seems about 20% of all 3e books are pictures. Add to that rules and you are cutting out alot of content.

Sorry, I was unclear. 10 pages for the demodands. Two pages for Apomps. Twelve demodand pages in all.

Faces of Evil had pictures, including two full-page ones in the yugoloth chapter. And the rules go in a seperate part of the book, the ones put aside for feats and spells.

All I care about is that the artwork for this books is a notch above Expedition to Ravenloft anyway. Certainly it better maintain the high standards of the first two FCs. *Note though there were a few pieces I didn't like, specifically, the reuse of Orcus in FC I and the art piece for the aspect of Triel/Baalzebul.*

Oh and I liked to see Anthraxus's motivations put under a little more scrunity. ;)

Regardless of how many pages they get, so long as the Loths get their due, I'm happy.

Well that and the Ultroloths do indeed become CR 20.

I like how everyone in here is pretty much assuming that WotC is going to make it. I really hope that someone from WotC takes note of the tremendous support.

I've always liked the lower planar creatures, and the yugoloths have always been my favorite.

I also think it is appropriate to devote more books to the lower planes than the upper ones because typically the pc's are 'good-aligned' protagonists.

I would like to see a modrons book too.... but that's far less of a necessity than a yugoloth one.

One vote for Shemmy to contribute!

I'm in for one! And I hope they just keep it to the lothy fiends. I think there is more than enough material to make the book very appealing, especially if it had tie ins to the first two FC books, and spent considerable space on the politics of the blood wars and the lower planes.

PS...Since Shemmy's stuff is all over the net, I think it would be great if he was a contributing author :) His stuff may not be official, but it is really good

Go 'Loths!
