[Fiery Dragon] Ptolus: Queen of Lies

Red Baron

First Post
An official Ptolus product written by the setting's creator, incomparable RPG author Monte Cook, revised and updated for v.3.5, PTOLUS: QUEEN OF LIES is an action-packed fantasy adventure painstakingly re-designed for Ptolus: Monte Cook’s City by the Spire. Involving numerous challenging scenarios for characters of 11th level, QUEEN OF LIES is filled with dozens of dark elf personalities, cunningly showcasing their alien culture—a world of merciless betrayal and sinister lusts.

Deep below the surface, in the sunless lands of the Netherdeep, creatures of darkness build weapons and amass armies, dreaming of invasion. An attack on a peaceful elven shrine in Emerald Hill sends the heroes on a quest to retrieve stolen artifacts and kidnapped friends. All signs point to the actions of the dark elves of Ul-Drakkan, far below the city of Ptolus. However, even within that ancient fortress, there exists a deeper darkness....

Underground enemies lurk beyond every twisting passage, and strange creatures abound. The foul culture of the dark elves is both decadent and cruel, and the heroes may discover that they’ve stumbled into a web of deceit and treachery spun by the self-styled queen of the dark elves. Can the player characters complete their mission without being discovered, or will they find out, perhaps too late, that their actions been orchestrated all along by the wicked Queen of Lies?

Featuring new monsters and magic items that dwell within the unique environment of the dim realms below the City by the Spire, PTOLUS: QUEEN OF LIES will test the mettle of the hardiest of heroes.

Note: All of the Fiery Dragon counters needed to run this adventure can be found in COUNTER COLLECTION: MONTE COOK’S PTOLUS.

Hmmm, I go to the page that lets me edit the Queen of Lies information in the database. I think the link (or maybe the storefront) is having an issue.

In any case, psyched about the rerelease! Does it mention the consequences of players' actions on the power structure beneath Ptolus?

Hey, my group is finishing up with the Original Flavor Queen of Lies now.

Is it just a 3.5e version with Ptolus flavor? Are there any major changes or new stuff in this version?

I could always throw neat monsters in at the end. ;)

It's pretty much a 3.5 version with the Ptolus serial numbers back on... afterall, the original adventure was set in Ptolus and all of the references were filed off to make it work with vanilla D&D. Now, those references are back in, but if you have the original, you should be able to do the work on its own.

And it should be available in print from our site a week or two after GenCon.

That gives us time to get home, unpack, sober up... ;)
