Fighter Weapon Talent and Double Weapons

Which fighter weapon talent should a fighter take if he wants to use double weapons?

Does it use the two-handed talent, because you need both hands to use a double weapon?
Or does it use the one-handed talent, because "wielding a double weapon is like wielding a weapon in each hand." (AV, p. 10)

Similarly, does a double weapon count a one-handed or two-handed weapon for abilities like Power Attack and Reaping Strike?

The Adventurer's Vault introduces double weapons. As far as the original question, I'm not sure there's a solid answer but in my personal opinion I'd classify them as two-handed for the fighter weapon talent.

Double-weapons require two hands so, yes, I'd say the same thing.

Huh, what do you know, you're right and I'm wrong.

I'd treat them as two-handed weapons.

Let them pick. If they choose to wield it like a two-handed weapon, they won't get the benefits when using powers that give two attacks, because that's "like wielding a weapon in each hand." But they would get a bigger benefit from power attack. If they opt for wielding them one-handed, they'll do less power attack damage but get the +1 when they're dual attacking.

Basically you're leaving it up to them but avoiding odd overlap such as using multi-weapon powers with increased power attack damage. Then the choice becomes empowering instead of limiting: they're better with what they want to focus on instead of being forced down one path.

Actually, you treat them as 2 one-handed weapons, not a two-handed weapon. Ask Wizards answered this a couple weeks ago.

As for fighting styles, a double weapon wielder will probably be interested in the Tempest Style outline in the Martial Power sourcebook.

Exactly. Double-weapons will probably not use One-Handed Talent when this is out.
