Fire shroud only targets enemies?

As far as I can see, Fire shroud is a close burst that only targets enemies. Scorching burst for instance targets creatures.

That means a wizard can use Fire shroud with friendly troops in the burst(?)
W = wizard, E = enemy, F = friendly

In the above example the wizard could use his Fire shroud on all the enemies without targeting any friendlies. Quite powerful, and probably not immediately obvious.
