Firefly movie opinion... theme song or no theme song?

Also, as a random aside, is it any coincidence that Mal and Zoe are in the maroon/brown color, remnicient of the Browncoats? Whereas the Tams (and Book) are in blue, which is primarily what they seem to light the Alliance with? And Kaylee and Jayne are in a green color, not really indicative of a side, or maybe indicative of neutrality?
If the observation is actually true most the time, it is probably not a coincidence. In case of Mal and Zoe it might even be a "concious" decision of the characters. (and I know they´re both wearing a "kinda brownish coat", as some Alliance fan/bar brawler said in the first(?) episode... )

As long as Mal still talks in his usual way, there'll be plenty of Western feel to Serenity... :)

Plus hey, about half the episodes were next to devoid of Western planets (The one where the ship is dead in space, the one with the alien-attacked salvaged ship, the one with the hospital/blue-hands...)

Not only should the song be in the film, but Josh should go ahead and add a couple of more versus to make it typical single length.

Damn skippy it needs to be there, though it wouldn't surprise me if it's only an instrumental version.

If it's not, I'm going to kill Whedon. And it had better not just be an instrumental version.

I pop in a DVD just to listen to the theme song sometimes.

Want an mp3?

I think it would be best for it to open quiet or with orchestration. I could see the song at beginning of the credits. It would work there, maybe.

Aaron.

dow-chicka-dow-chicka-dow-chicka-dow-chicka...

deeooowww, deeeoooowww, deeeeeooowww...

Who's that Browncoat Captain that the bad guys hate?

Mal!

Who never gives in to the government but but never leaves a crewmember in need?

Mal!

You're damn right!

Man, I heard that Mal was one cynical mother--
--Shut your mouth!
--I'm just talkin' 'bout Mal!
I can dig it.

After reading this thread I put in the DVD to listen to the song! Yeah, I think they should put an instrumental version to play during the opening credits.
