Really? But I thought he was in the first preview they realeased. Is there at least someone that looks like him? Cause in that first preview there's somebody that I could have sworn was him.

Sorry to mislead anybody, I really thought Early was in the movie. In case you haven't figured it out, I haven't seen it yet.

I guess it's true then all us black guys DO look alike.

Jubal was played by Richard Brooks, the guy who was the First ADA on Law & Order.

The Operative is played by Chiwetel Ejiofor who starred Dirty Pretty Things (Dir. Stephen Frears) with Audrey Tautou (Amelie).

In one of the many Serenity/Firefly threads here'bouts I posted pictures of the two actors... I don't even get what people are seeing as the same.

But then I also posted my theory as to why some people confuse them, the very same reason that I have a hard time telling some east Asian folks apart.

I saw the movie and this isn't true. Jubal Early is not in the movie.

I agree, though I'd pick Shindig over Jaynestown.

Definitely Serenity.

If I had to pick four more...

Train Job, since it was written as almost a second pilot. Also, the ending sets the tone for a lot of the series.

Out of Gas, though it would lose a lot without having gone through the rest of the episodes. Still, sets up how the rest of the crew came on board.

Ariel, because it's THE defining episode for River and especially Simon. Also, it sets up a lot for Jayne's character, which is lost by not watching all the episodes.

After that, it's hard to say.

Objects in Space adds a lot to Simon and is River's pivotal episode. It highlights a lot of the characters and how they react to a clear and present danger. On the other hand, while it is a great episode, it really ignores most of the crew beyond Simon and River, and a bit of Kaylee.

War Stories sets up a lot with Wash, Zoe, and Mal, and is led in by Train Job. It's also Wash's pivotal episode. Again though, a lot of it is lost without the preceding episodes, especially the growing friction between Wash and Mal and its resolution.

I think both would be optimal, but I think I'd choose War Stories over Objects in Space.

I can see some confusion, if you only get a brief look at the Operative in the trailer as opposed to Jubal Early. Their outfits aren't all that different, though Jubal is leaner and meaner than the Operative, while the Operative is just plain cool-headed danger.

If the series had continued, I'm sure we'd have seen Jubal again. Rule #1 of TV - if you don't see the body, you can't say they're dead. Sometimes not even then.

One other factor could be that anyone who has only seen the trailer on a computer might have trouble with the small size, but even that's a stretch in my view.

Even if he doesn't get a chance to watch too many episodes, from what I hear, the movie is gonna explain enough for the average joe who hasn't seen it, to be able to understand and enjoy. After that, he may want to go back and watch the episodes to get some background on the movie. Works in reverse, but still gives you a way to see the movie with making him sit through a marathon or feel that he must see the series first in order to even see the movie.
