Did Mal kick Niska's goon into the engine intentionally?

  • Yeah, that dude got a face full of engine on purpose.

Remember MAl almost Spaced jane in one episode an actual crew member who at that point was not even threatening him directly but had betrayed another crewmember.

Mal can be cold when he has to be .. a product of the war I think.

Definataly, Mal knows that all is fair in love and war, he gave him a chance but he scorned him, bye bye man, hello meaty chunks.

Hell yeah he kicked him into the engine intentionally. Thats what was so great.

And about not "killing" and unarmed man. He said that to the Doctor. He meant he wouldn't betray him. He won't shoot you in the back. He'll face you like a man. He did that to Niska's goon and then to Jane. He could have just as easily spaced Jane but he gave him a shot at explaining himself.
He gave the goon a shot to. All he had to do was tell Niska, deals off no bad feeling. Goon didn't want, oh well, *kick*, next. Firefly rocks.

One is not kicked into an engine by accident. ;)
I dunno. If an estranged wife can accidentally run over her cheating husband with a mid-sized sedan multiple times, you can accidentally kick someone into a running engine. :p

Me? Sometimes I accidentally slap my friend upside his head, which often happens when one makes an undesirably lame comment or joke. Oops. ;)

Intentionally, although there will stay this thought, that this was a stupid thing to do: Airplanes have to be repaired when a bird gets sucked into their engines. What about spacecrafts and men?

But still: it is defining and makes Mal the character that places him on place two of my space captain list (right behind sisko when he gets the romulans into the war or poisons an atmosphere to get his man)

Considering the amount of heat those things looked like they generated I assume the clean-up time would be minimal. ;)

A body hitting the blades is still going to do damage.
