Does adblock slow down the browsing?

I tried an adblocker extension a while ago (still under FF2) and it was noticably slowing down the whole thing.


NoScript is just great, I can only recommend it as well.

I'm not a huge fan of NoScript, it kills a bit too much for me. It certainly makes your browsing safer, but I prefer FlashBlock. It just blocks flash objects from running, and you click them to play. It's got whitelisting too.

You should also take a look at Objection, which is a flash cookie cleaner. Did you know flash keeps cookies? Browser cleaning settings don't affect them.

I run FlashBlock rather than noscript, for the reasons above. I presume noscript would kill AJAX applications, and you don't necessarily want that to happen.

Also, a quick way of increasing text size is Ctrl-+ and Ctrl-- to decrease it.
