First look of the Dragonborn?

Where are you seeing fur?

I see reptile. I'll agree it's a dragonborn.
On reflection, I wasn't in fact seeing fur other than the mane, but two details my eyes glazed over that told me it should have fur.
1) On the inside of his right forearm there appear to be gnoll-like spots.
2) Look at his head. There's a distinct black nose at the end of that muzzle, rather than the smooth snout with nostril holes one would expect from a reptile.

There definitely seems to be a big mane of fur or quills or something behind its head.

Eh could be. As others have said though, it's too small to really be sure. But the spikey things look kind of like the spikes on the tail... It has wings and big horns... Just seems easier to use the Occam's Razor approach.

It's hard to see in the smallish picture, but it looks rather similar to what is shown in Races&Classes.

hmm, I am not sure I agree on that.. I must admit however, that the pictures in R&C of the dragonborn are really awesome.

Definitely not a gnoll, due to the tail.

Thus, a fiendish gnoll. Gnolls don't have horns either, but this one does. Doesn't anyone remember an old figure (maybe a Chainmail figure) of a fiendish gnoll with horns and a spiky tail?

The black nose and the furry/spiny mane does it for me.

But I could be wrong. Curse these teaser images!

My immediate thought on seeing the picture when it first showed up was Glabrezu, but they don't have the pincers and do have the wings. My second, after consideration, was half fiend gnoll.

I haven't seen any pictures of dragonborn so I cant really make any evaluations of whether this is one or not.

After enlarging the picture (and using my secret TV-show image enhancer), I must admit I was wrong. There is an ear visible on his head and the dragonborn in R&C have no ears.

So, it's a fiendish gnoll after all. :)
