First WFRPv2 session!

Also, I think Im going to do a Star Wars conversion to WFRP type system. I think that would work better then the current D20 system! :)
I can see that being perhaps closer to the 'spirit' of Star Wars (IMO) - it's actually a pretty deadly universe they've got there.

Incidentally, how do the character options that the players have taken compare in terms of fun, strengths, weaknesses and so on?

I'm about ' ' <- that far away from buying this RPG. I kinda miss the old one, and it sounds like great fun. Hm.

I want to use WFRP v2 for Iron Kingdoms. Just convert the magic talents to have distinct wizardry and sorcery, and make divine lores for each IK deity. Oh, and the necromancy and such. And convert mechanika.

We have had a blast, ummm.....let's see, I play a pretty loose game, and let the characters try everything. We have 2 outlaws, 1 pitfighter, 1 tollkeeper, and 1 aspiring wizard (I think he's a scribe). Last Friday, the adventures figured out Capt. Shiller from Untergaurd was going to be assinated for some old obscure magic artifact that was captured from his adventuring days with the "Spear of Order". While heading down to save him, the PCs had a run in with a duellist and 3 lackeys. They weren't for sure if they were the would be hired guns or not. So they talked, made nice, and seperated ways. Unfortunately, they were the assassins, and the assassins knew them also, and set up a simple ambush. Now the funny part, I had Rufio Delmargo (duellist) fire both pistols on the biggest badass looking PC, hitting him in the head twice, and damn near killing him. The lackeys fired xbows and missed. Then Rufio pulled his rapier and charged on horseback at the PC retreating into the woods. He rolled a ride check to make it through a mad dwarven tollkeeper, and the brush, and rolled a 00. So then I had him roll an agility roll for being able to stay on the falling horse, and he was okay, but right in the midst of the PCs! Well, the dwarf, stepping angrily forward swung with his beat-up old woodchopping axe, hit, and rolled a 10+8+4 for damage. No more BA! The lackeys ran after the leader was down!
What a blast! and because of the deadliness of combat, man, talk about roleplaying! I have to say, I haven't had this much fun in RPGs in almost 10 years! Even our resident mumbler/munchkin has really started to pickup on roleplaying! I cant wait to play Star Wars Homebrew for the system. (I have alot of the classes and force powers worked out!)
Another good thing is the lack of players access to books, I have the only one, so no arguements about positions or AoO, and such! It has really been great, and even our hard core D20 player says he's having a BLAST!

My group had our a 'trial' WFRP session tonight. Our GM was a little rusty, and we spent a lot of time familiarizing ourselves with the rules. Nonetheless, we had a really fun time!

It became quite clear to me that the system is really great -- I love the feel of the rules and the setting. Our group included a dwarven miner, a human outlaw, and a human scribe (I played the scribe). The character generation process ensured that all the PCs were pretty colourful (my character lacked an eyebrow, was from a hovel in Nordland, and cherised his 'illuminated book'). Combat was dramatic and deadly -- it definitely felt more dangerous than 3e.

I can hardly wait to play it again! :)

Yeah, WFRPG is a little more crunchier then D&D, and those Xbow bolts can really hurt! I just love the simplistic, time-saving character creation. The lethality of it turns it into a roleplaying game. We have had a blast with it! A great way of breaking the boredom we had with D&D.
