Flame Enhancement and heat output

Well "The fire does not harm the wielder" - I would extrapolate this to mean that the heat effects have no effect at all.

So I don't think the weapon's heat itself could beneficially help the wielder. Now if he used it to set something on fire that is adifferent thing altogether.

Yes, chemistry can be flexible in fantasy worlds (and so a DM could certainly rule either way he desires)... but this seemed more like common/survival sense than advanced physics or chemistry. Most adventurers would probably know that any open flame in an enclosed environment will eventually consume their air supply. Magical flames (unless they are illusionary) are not different in that respect. Per the rules: magical flames set flammable things alight, and the oxygen in one's air supply is technically flammable.
