flurry of ....

I have a question.

I have a Barbarian fighter character with the 'whirling frenzy' ability from the unearthed arcana. It give an extra attack, but you get -2 on all attacks and all in rage.

Now after some levels, i'm thinking of getting levels in exotic weapon master.
Now i wonder, if i can use the 'whirling frenzy' and 'flurry of strikes' at the same time.
Flurry of strikes is also an extra attack and -2 on all attacks until next round.

So, would this mean -4 to all attacks and 2 extra attacks?

Unless stated otherwise in the descriptions, they should stack. (Even if that´s not neccessarily the intention, especially considering that the exotic weapon master and the whirling frenzy were not created with each other in mind).

If Whirling Frenzy mentions it doesn´t stack with Monk´s Flurry of Blows, and Flurry of Strikes mentions it doesn´t stack with Monk´s Flurry of Blows, it would certainly give more weight to saying they don´t stack with each other, but it´s still not the rule as written...

My advice is to ask the DM (and be honest to tell him what you´d prefer :) )

I'd need to see the actual rules text of each ability before I could tell you which is which.

For instance, if Flurry of Strikes and Whirling Frenzy both say, "When making a full attack action, you may ..." then they'd stack.

If one or the other, instead, says, "As a full round action, you may ..." then they would not stack.

Yes, they work together. Whirling Frenzy is a Rage variant, and therefore not an attack action at all, but rather an ability. Flurry of Blows is a full attack action. If you use them together, though, the penalties both apply; expect to miss a lot. ;) Also, the Monk class requires Lawful characters, and the Barbarian class requires non-Lawful- how will you take both?

EDIT: Whoops, sorry, I was not reading carefully. You meant Flurry of Strikes not Flurry of Blows. That answers my question about the class restrictions! Yes, they still work together with the penalties stacking.

... the ability comes from the 'exotic weaponmaster' PRC.
And a lot of misses? maybe, in rage it means (+4str) so, 2 attacks and -2 on every attack. I expect that my dice help me sometimes too :)

Anyway, thanks everyone for helping me out :D
