I'd say when you go into the AMF you become fatigued, walk out and your Raging again until the spell expires. IMHO the fatigue is due to magic induced Rage but you're still raging and suffer the mundane (non magical) effects of raging.

A reasonable ruling.

You could view this as being that you are fatigued the minute you cast the spell, but the spell's magic prevents the fatigue from happening until the spell expires. Under this view, you would be fatigued in an AMF, because the fatigure itself is non-magical.

Of course, that's not the only way to view this...

Bear's Heart deals subdual damage when it expires. I would say this subdual does not get delt in an AMF. But in the case of fatigue after raging, I would agree with it.

The key is deciding what sort of thing is going on. If, in the case of Bear's Heart, you decide that the subdual damage is caused magically by the spell ending, then it won't happen inside an AMF.

Unfortunately, that is a very arbitrary destinction that can't be used in any sort of concrete example. I would prefer if there was something testable. If the spell grants you the abilty to rage, you would get the exceptional penalties after the magic ran out. I don't know that Righteous Wrath of the Faithful says it grants you the ability to rage, so I can still argue the fatigue is magical.

I guess I like clear rules.

3e Hype, remember? What happened?

Remember 3e hype? Clear rules for every situation!!

Well, sort of. Except underwater combat. And tripping (armed, unarmed, tripping weapons??). And...., well, you get the idea. :) :)

Gosh, imagine how quiet it would get in here... :)

Clear rules? Where's the fun in that? ;)

It doesn't really matter if it is clear or not, we would still argue.

What I would really like would be if there was something in each spell to base it off, so I could say "Righteous Wrath gives you an exceptional ability, you have to suck up all the benifits and penalties."

This is not very important though. If a party really want to "powergame" the end of spell penalties of spells with AMF, I would let them. There are far more broken (and annoying) things they could do, like dirrect sphere's of anihilation into oceans.
