For those that drink, what's your poison of choice?

I drink a total of less than half a dozen alcoholic drinks per year, but I am a sucker for run & cola. I love dark rum and am a snob for premium cola (not Coke, but Red Rock).

I really like beer and MGD is my preferance. Smirnoff Black is pretty good.
My favorite drink though is Patron Silver Tequila - straight.

Hands down the best liquor is Rain vodka. No one has ever heard of it, and it's relatively inexpensive ($20-22 US for a 750 ml). But once you try it you will never go back to any other vodka.

For whiskey, I like Knob Creek, but I realize it's a little tough for some people.

If I could only have one kind of beer, I would have to go with a nice smooth middle-of-the-road like Newcastle brown ale.

Black and Tan is a good drink:)

I haven't had a Black and Tan in years... most bars never get it right. Personally I've always loved me some Black and Whites (Harp and Guiness).

Bushmills whiskey is usually my favorite. Especially if I can get my hands on a Purple Label... mmmm... aged 16 years in three different types of wood casks...mmmm

As a former bartender, I have sampled many different drinks. I do not like beer of any kind (except for this beer I had over in Munich, Germany during Oktoberfest that I had to much to remember what it was).

But I usually prefer Rum and Coke garnish with a lime. It is a classic, but a good one at that.
I also like a good White Russian.
If I could drink them everyday all day, I would pick Jameson irish Lemonade from Bennigan's.

Absolut Citron and 7-Up, with a slice of lime (clear drinks get limes, damnit!!!), served very, very cold in a pint glass.

Second would be a Long Island Iced Tea made with decent alchohol. I've been done with well-drinks for many, many years.

Jack and coke is always good.

Bourbon, bourbon, and more bourbon, with an occasional Canadian blended, like Crown Royal.

as for brews, I like Bass Ale.

So, I kind like the middle to upper range mass produced stuff. I'm much closer to joe sixpack than a connoisseur, but the low end stuff wreaks havoc on my body and is generally poor tasting. Top-shelf stuff is too hoity-toity for me, and not worth the extra expense, IMO. And yes, I've tried some of the really expensive booze.

Any german beer that still is produced after it's original recipe and not changed by some big beer company "to fit to most peoples taste". Luckily that reduced my choice of breweries to only a couple of thousand

Especially "Fattigauer Schlossbräu Doppelhopfen". Although their Pils is stunningly good.
