For those who run in the Scarred Lands what is your favorite area to adventure

Glad you think so. I certainly think this, and the Player's guides will do very well and please...well not everyone but a good number of people.

Physical Description:
A tall, swarthy man, Kalan has all the traditional features of a man born in Calastia. His gray-green eyes and dark hair give him charismatic flavor to him, though he himself is not particular charismatic. Kalan also has many scars, most hidden from view but were part of his training as an aesthetic/thorned purifier. He also has a birthmark on his right arm that of laurel crown.

Personality/Attitude: Kalan's beginnings were far from humble. The second son of one of the more notorious crime families in Calastia, the Rintos, Kalan was desperate to find a way out of his family's lifestyle. While used to living of the fat of others, Kalan believed his family was mere propagating the problems in Calastia. Thus after a while, he decided to join a local convent, hoping to set his sights higher. Perhaps the Slaver heard his silent pleas. Or perhaps it was merely just his fanaticism in the ideals of law and working it inside the system for one's self. Whatever the reason, he was soon mentored by one Nudal Fevel, a high ranking wandering mendicant/thorned purifier. There he learned the value of suffering and pain, building himself stronger and not relying on others to guide or aid him. Finally he was able to overcome his own pains and thus was reborn as a thorned purifier. Kalan then decided to aid more people, going out and conquering, not by force of arms, but by showing the strength of his devotion. Wherever he went, the forces of chaos soon found themselves a powerful foe. Soon many were quaking at the mention of "The Preacher". A few "enlightened" do gooders have tried to stand against him. All have failed. Now "The Preacher" has come to do some conversions in the lands of Darakeene. Kalan has promised local authorities he is merely here to take confessions and to help in the fight against many of the titanspawn. Whether that is an actual goal of his or not, remains to be seen.

I am not familiar with that PrC?

What book is it from? I would like to know more about it before I try to use it.

By the way . . . I re-read the "lady of serpents" and that class is a logical progression for the other NPC (whose name I can't place at the moment) at least for my game and I am REALLY looking forward to using her aginst the PC's.:D

Calastia Throne of the Black Dragon

Calastia Throne of the Black Dragon is where youll find that PRc IIRC.
Along with the Battlemage and Dragon Knight :D

Just a few more. :) I figured it would be a nice way for your PCs to see, not every evil might be as evil as they thought. I believe you're talking about Lorelianni, my half elven druidess/sorcereress. Here's the link to here: (You'll have to scroll down though.) Lorelianni

As for the Thorned Purifier's powers, while it's more for clerical in nature, many people can take it. (Though I doubt they can cast other spells if they are of a non-spellcasting nature)

They also continue in their spellcasting class, though they don't gain any other benefits (metamagic feats, item creation feats, etc) as they would from another class.

They can rebuke and command undead equal to a cleric of their level in that class. (If already a cleric this effect stacks). They also cannot cast any spells from Chaos or Good (since they are ALWAYS Lawful Evil) If previously a cleric they lose all their other domain spells and powers and gain Missionary and Law instead.

At 2nd level they can cast "Rend the Soverign Soul" 1+their Charisma modifier per day.

4th level they can cast Chardun's Torments 1 per day. (They also get to cast it 2 times a day when they reach 7th level.)

6th level the gain immunity to Enchantment spells of the charm subtype.

8th level they can cast a variant of Power word stun, but instead of stunning, they wrack the target(s) with pain. This can be done one per day

10th level, they gain a varient of Power Word: Kill. It only affects one target. If killed in this fashion, (this Dm's direscretion), the victim can return to life as a Chardun-slain after one day has passed.

sounds EVIL

it would go well with the spells devoloped by the red wizard Nybor. his stuff was all about pain:D

I may have to "resurect some of the more obscure 2e spells and toss them at the players"

I'll have to check my "Magic of Faerun" but I don't believe any of the Nybor spells were clerical in nature. *checks* Nope they are all wiz/sorc spells. Course you could just change them over to equivalent clerical level spells.

change over
