Forcecage & material component

I was wondering if a sorcerer needs to use forecage's material component to cast it. Because it's only needed when preparing the spell, and sorcerers dont prepare their spells. Also forcecage seems pretty powerfull, will the spell be to powerfull without the 1.500 gold material component needed to cast the spell?

It seems obvious that the sorceror still needs to material component, especially as it is costs 1,500 gp. It just would not be fair otherwise.

however, I'd give the sorceror the advantage of having the component not used up until he chose to use the spell.
