These were in Volo's, and then specifically not in Monsters of the Multiverse: they may want to refresh these, or they may just want to say the word refers to Orciah origin Tieflings, and is cosmetic...Tannaruk

Drider as well.Yochlol were in the 2014 MM so I expect they’ll still be in the 2024 version.
Looking at the list from the 3e supplement, Monsters of Faerun, I'd expect to see (with the caveat that if I've mentioned some already in the monster manual they likely won't be in it): Fey'ri, Tannaruk, the yochlol demon, driders, maybe a couple different dragons (deep and song), nishruu, phaerimm, and sharn. Maybe also a couple of different liches (baelnorn, archlich).
Side note, I remember really liking the monsters of faerun book, had some great art in it.
Gibberlings (finally) got their 5e update in Tales from the Infinite Staircase a few months ago. There’s probably other old FR critters that could make an appearance. Gibberlings don’t have an official 5e incarnation yet do they? Tren. Lythari. Fey’Ri. You wouldn’t want all the monsters in the book to be high-level stuff like phaerimm and maulagryms.
I’m sure they’ll make up some new critters for the book too, they certainly did for Ravenloft and Spelljammer.
Not only Red Wizards but hinted at Venger as well.I wouldn't read that much into which areas got mentioned, it did not seem theybwere giving a complete picture of what was in the book with those listed.
They didn't say that there would not be an Adventure, either (in fact, they didn't say much). They did mention the Red Wizards of Thay, and one of the only things which we know about forthcoming Adventure products is that they were working on something with the Red Wizards in it...and thianwould be a good place for that.
I would expect the DM's book will have a Bestiary.
In fact, it would not surprise me if the two books between them were conceived at one time as a three Parr slipcase like Spelljammer/Planescape...
And then you get DCC Lankhmar and they aren't very Lankhmarry, only Greyhawk is Lankhmarry. It’s Lankhmar. You can argue they’re all vaguely Lankhmar.
OopsI'm reminded of the Old Grey Box, and I'm pretty sure Ed's intention was to never develop Sembia officially. I know things change, but just a random historical fact that areas were carved out specifically for DMs to develop on their own.
Okay - went and grabbed my book. DM's sourcebook to the Realms, pg 6.:
"Certain areas of each of the enlarged maps of the Forgotten Realms will contain areas that will not have future adventures, modules, or sourcebooks set in them, and are left solely for use by the DM for development without fear of some later product invalidating that portion of his campaign.
"In the initial boxed set, those areas are:
The Serpent Hills (east of the High Moor)
The Wood of Sharp Teeth
The Desertedge Mountains (outside the Dales), and
The Nation of Sembia."
Yup, I suspect that Venger will be the BBEG behind the Caves of Chaos in Heros of the Borderlands. Not only Red Wizards but hinted at Venger as well.
