Forgotten Realms Player Guide

D&D (2024) Forgotten Realms Player Guide

The city with floating islands is likely Airspur that had been famous for them.

So what Realms Shaking Event do you think they will use this time to justify the setting changes they plan to do to FR?

Something new and exciting or while they just still use the Sundering which never got a proper book yet? Perhaps they will use Vecna's evil attempt at taking over the multiverse this time. Or the events in BG3.
My bet is Vecna killing Mystra. It's been a while since she last died.

Both Forgotten Realms has well over 300 novels which have sold tens of millions of copies. It's had dozens of video games. Mystara had about 15 novels I think so it's less true for Mystara, and a video game or two.
I am not saying they have none, only that I think the DL ratio is more heavily skewed towards novels than the other two. DL has over 200 books but a lot less adventures and supplements than FR.

My main issue with marketing to those outside the TTRPG hobby still is that I do not think there is all that much in it for them. Did DL novel readers buy a lot of setting material? I doubt it, and they certainly had additional lore / details in them
