First off, I'm not running the Star Wars game. I'm just playing in it. One of the other guys in the group GMs it.Maybe it is not the system, but the setting? if they liked Saga best so far, is it because of the rules or is it because of the fact that it's Sci-Fi/Star Wars?
Maybe Lightsabers, blasters and spaceships are far cooler then swords and bows to them?
Or is it something more specific? Do your Saga adventures simply rock more then everything you ever did with Fantasy? Or do you just - as a DM - feel more engaged in the Star Wars game. If you're not happy with how the players narrate their power, maybe your "unhappiness" shows in other aspects, too.
It is possible it's just the system. But ensure that it's not just because the players like Sci-Fi or Star Wars more then Fantasy or D&D.
Second, I don't think they like Star Wars more than D&D ... For one thing, it's only nominally a Star Wars game. We're actually playing in a different galaxy and so there's no Empire, no Jedi Council, no Luke, no Leia, no Vader, and so on. But, yes, it's still "sci-fi". To be honest, I'm not even really sure if the guys do prefer the Saga system over 4e. All I know is that they enjoy both ... which suggests to me that they would probably enjoy a melding of the two as well. And if they don't, then they are more than welcome to stop playing in my game. I'll either find new players or stick with a smaller group (which is really my preference anyway -- I hate big groups in social settings. I prefer to keep things intimate.).
