Forsaker/Psionic?

Broken Fang

Just a quick question:

Forsakers don't use magic but I don't see anything about psionics. Is this an oversight or could you make a Forsaker/Psionic?

Note that the Forsaker also forsakes all Spell-Like Abilities. Note that Psionics are considered Spell-Like Abilities.

The Forsaker in my group tried that one. Clever trick, but no dice. :)

Oi vey, this one again.

Okay, far as I know there is nothing -official- stating that you cannot have a Forsaker/Psion.

Very similar in fact to nothing -official- stating that you can't have a Half-Fiend Trumpet Archon, or PCs with Divine Ranks, or Paragon Half-Dragon Black Pudding with 40 levels of Cleric. You CAN.. but it's twinkish, and lame.

Taking a character class that is totally centered around the rejection of the supernatural because it a a crutch and a corruptive influence.. and then giving him levels in a class that is centered around the devopment of the same supernatural powers he hates.. yeah. Bad Idea.

I -heavily- suggest against it. Sorry if I come across as a bit harsh, but this is a peeve of mine. It's come up before in my gaming circle.

*storms off to grind his teeth together*

Actually there is. Forsakers have no spell like abilities, and psionics are considered spell like.

It's no big deal, I wasn't actually thinking about doing it and neither was anyone in the group...it was just something that came up. Thanks for the claification.

IIRC, If you use the "psionics are different rule", psionics are no longer spell-like abilities. So technically forsaker/psions would be legal. You could even explain that he hates magic, but psionics is something different and he has no qualms with that.

But I very much advice anyone against it, since it's serious powergaming, with taking a class with very strong powers balanced by a serious drawback and then circumventing that drawback. It will go the way of the bucked of snails and the dwarven-defender-on-a-cart (TM).

Put the DD on a cart. The DD goes into defensive stance, and cannot move for the remainder of its duration. Now pull the cart with the DD around.
