FotR and Sausages! (...or Movies and Food)

Mark

CreativeMountainGames.com
I was recently watching the extended version (oh, so much better than the theatrical release) of FotR and got a huge craving for sausages! Couldn't help myself, and fortunately the local market had a sale going (Eckrich Smoked Sausage 1 lb = $1.99) so I picked some up. I've had them before, mind you, but these are some of the tastiest links I have ever consumed! Do movies do this to other people, or is it just me (again)? :D

It's just you. ;)

Well actually if I'm watching movies at home I tend to get quite peckish. However going to a movie theater I rarely eat anything.

I like to eat the food that people are eating in the movie. It makes it seem more real...

...especially those human brain-eating zombie movies....

Cool. I often get weird cravings as well. I was watching The Princess Bride recently and had a massive craving for tacos. Unfortunately I wait until the next day to get some....

Eh... can't say that movies kindle such cravings.

That said, I often get strong lusts for many kinds of food when
watching stuff, TV or video or cinema or whatever. But seeing that
I also get similar wants when reading, working on the computer
or spending quality time with my girlfriend (much to here dismay).

In other words, I get weird ideas into my head (often concerning
some kind of food) all the time, whatever I'm doing, it's not just
while watching movies.

Nope, don't have a craving for sausage when watching that movie.

I've had a craving for M&M and Doritos Salsa chips.

I'm a woman, so I always get cravings. ;) I can't remember any movies invoking particular cravings, but cooking infomercials and food commercials do. I've also been known to get hungry when people in books are talking about food alot. ;)

Some food/film associations I have:

Matrix - Anything microwaveable. It's like science you can eat! Or, if you are all out of taquitos or pizza rolls, how about some Tasty Wheat?

Lord of the Rings - Meat you can eat without utensils. Sausage, drumsticks, anything you can wave around like some bloated medieval monarch. Strong beer is a must, as well.

Star Wars - Stew. Those are very stew-intensive films. Aunt Beru's making one, so's Yoda. What do they know that you don't? Stew: It does a Jedi good.

Kevin Smith movies - Chocolate-covered pretzels. 'Nuff said.

Mafia movies/Sopranos - Pizza. Preferably folded. And not with chicken or pineapple or any other California froo-froo ingredients on it.
