I'm not sure how widely known this is so forgive me if this has been discussed before. I have seen this video clip on the Saturday morning music shows lately and I think it is both funny and sweet at the same time. It is basically about a guy walking around a mall in Sydney with a sign saying "Free Hugs" and the reaction from it. I really like the song. Hopefully all the attention the film clip is getting can help them reach a lot more people than the usual channels.

Not quite sure why hugs arn't more accepted, I suppose it has to do with modern concerns about being robbed, molested, and diseases.

Despite all my families' issues we hug at every meeting.

It is a much less trusting society that we live in these days. People are much less inclined to accept help from strangers for fear of some sort of ulterior motive. Selfless acts of kindness are often looked at for some sort of hidden catch.

It's sad really but most people seem to take the "better safe than sorry" option. :\ You can even see it at the start of the video. People don't want to hug the guy for fear that he'll rob or grope them or something like that.

People hug a lot at my school. Alas, people seem to think I don't want any/am not worth hugging, and so don't give me one.
