Free RPG Day is fast approaching, is your FLGS participating?

My FLGS? No. But according to the Free RPG day website one in Tuscalossa is and my game group is going to use it as an excuse to go and see what its like. We have talked about going in the past but never had a good reason.

Too bad. I'd like to pick up the goodman stuff, the C&C stuff, the Conan/Lankhmar stuff. Basically any of the stuff reasonably applicable to D&D.

I will also be running a Castles & Crusades demo at Jetpack Comics in Rochester, NH. A portion of one of my forthcoming Castle Zagyg: Yggsburgh modules is being included with the free offering from Troll Lord Games (mentioned this in another thread, but I think it got buried). Sign-ups for the event (June 23) are still open. Contact the owner (Ralph) if you'd like to play. I will provide pre-generated characters to choose from and will run a game or two from 10:00 AM to whenever.

Above Board Games

Above Board Games in Fort Mill SC is participating. Unfortunately I will be missing it as I will be with my remote gaming group that weekend playing d20 Modern and Savage Worlds.

This would be great cept for those of us who work weekends. Stupid rassa frakkin' everything taking place on weekends.

Next year could the Free RPG Day scheduling people *please* not make it a Saturday? Please? 70% of gamers work weekends; it makes much more sense to make Free RPG Day a Tuesday or Wednesday.

Now that I've got that out of the way; no, I can't attend. I will be working so the useless casino going public has a place to ruin their lives. Pity, there are 4 game stores in my area doing stuff for this lovely day.

I don't believe this is true. Just off the top of my head, a large percentage go to school (mostly high school & college), which means weekdays and weeknights are bad.

I think it would be doomed if made a weekday event.

I signed up and payed for my FLGS and was on the list within a day. They already have the stuff, in fact.
