The magnitude of this super coolness was unexpected, but I posted yesterday that GR would do something to make up for Saturday. So it wasn't totally unexpected by everyone.
Like I said in my post yesterday, this is the kind of company GR has always been. They've just achieved the level of "super", now.

Yeah, I was really shocked to see how much stuff they had on sale besides giving an entire extra week to get the freebies. I'm probably going to pick up the free stuff and get the Anniversary edition of Freeport.

Huzzah!

As someone who doesn't live anywhere near a gaming store, all Free RPG Day usually means to me is reading a lot of additional threads here at EN World. I was really excited about the Green Ronin giveaway because I've been considering True20 for quite some time, but didn't want to make the plunge without having a chance to browse the book from cover to cover.

Then Free RPG Day rolls around and, like many others, I couldn't access the website. Needless to say I was extremely frustrated. Now I find I have another chance! Big thanks to the folks at Green Ronin!

How far are you from Harrisonburg? There should be a game store there with JMU being in town.

Thanks,
Rich

Wow. Very nice of Green Ronin to do this.

DEFINITELY check out the stuff on sale if you download the free stuff. There are some truly awesome books that are on sale as part of this whole thing. M&M2e? the True20 Companion?! Sweet.

The True20 Bestiary is almost essential if you want to do D&D-style True20, and the True20 Companion has some really great stuff in it. (If you're doing D&D in True20 and had to choose one, it would be a really tough pick... but the Bestiary would probably be my choice. The True20 Companion is awesome, though)

/got my free PDFs on Saturday... and I have a lot of the books already in either hardcopy or PDF format, but I'll probably end up buying Agents of Freedom as part of this & possibly the True20 Bestiary in PDF format

The week aspect was unexpected, Oracle of Delphi.

Definitely. I was only sure they would do something. Doing it on this order of magnitude was definitely not anything I would, or did, anticipate. I did wonder if they might do a whole weekend, but seven days, and additional discounts on more products? I might have had the thought go through my mind, but I sure didn't consider it a possibility.

So not only does GR do a great job on producing great product, they do an awesome job at being a great RPG company that proves they are as dedicated to us fans as they want us to be dedicated to them.

Definately a company I can support. With happy enthusiasm.

According to Mapquest: 4 hours, 12 minutes (approximately 250 miles)

*heh* I'd have to make a weekend of it! Much appreciated, though. :)
