Friend's Factotum help.

I don't think Factotum can DO much with all his standard actions, though. Especially as an archer. Manyshot is weaksauce and has big attack penalties. Best use of pure Factotum is a trip / other combat maneuver build or a fear-based intimidator, generally.

A Rogue doesn't have to be underpowered, though a non-casting rogue does often rely on a spellcaster to get his mojo going past round 1. At least until he can afford a ring of blinking, that is. But with Penetrating Strike variant (Dungeonscape; costs Trap Sense), he can do half SA damage even to stuff immune. Dip Swordsage for two levels at 7 and 8 or 9 and 10 (latter lets you get all maneuvers 3rd level or lower, former only one of them could be, rest would be level 1 or 2) to grab Assassin's Stance. Also nets useful maneuvers, especially Cloak of Deception.

It would not be underpowered, especially around levels 10-12 and on. Only limiting factor before then is needing a mage to SA every round.

Well hey, I think Factotum's rock.
Take Font of Inspiration as many times as you can afford the feat.

As for making a Factotum look cool, it's a matter of planning your spells more carefully than a Wizard, being intentional with your skill selection (and you'll have plenty) and being strategic with your IP usage. Jump in to heal when you can just to remind people that you're awesome like that.

Once you hit level 8 with the ability to take extra standard actions, look into any number of options to open combat with one, very powerful attack. Shotgunning wands, iaijutsu focus followed up by a second attack in a surprise round, Shivering Touch followed up by a Coup De Grace, and so on, all good stuff.

Lucid Dreaming skill.
