Woo! Barghests, weretigers, and centipedes. Honorable mentions to Winter wolves, ankhegs, actual tigers (that will please folks looking for animals). I find the Grey Render's return actually amusing. And I'm curious how they will handle the darkmantle.

Also from the Preview article, there was another monster I noticed:

I'm willing to bet that the troll on the right is a Bladerager Troll (MM V, pg 180).

As annoyed as players have been at the lack of former core classes is as annoyed as I've been as a GM at the lack of creatures that have been part of the D&D monster history much longer than WoTC recent attempts at branding.

This looks solid.

Fantastic stuff. That's a ton of old-school monster badness right there, and it's no doubt excluding a number of classic monsters which are exclusive to the WotC brand (e.g. new illithid variants, yugoloths, gehreleths/demodands, new beholder-kin, etc).

MM2 cannot arrive fast enough.

I wonder what the point of having the Erinyes, if the Succubus fills the equivalent role. Having the Dretch will be nice, although I'm surprised no quasit.

-Pennaggolan
OH SNAP.

Even so, some of these choices I think are dumb.

Yes, I too lament the absence of the kraken, and the Jabberwocky for that matter (burbling would be an awesome aura I tell you!), but nontheless I cant wait!
