Frostburn: How to Snowshoe/Ski?

I've asked this question a couple of times, on different threads, and gotten no response... HOW does Frostburn handle snowshoeing and skiing? What skill or skills do you need to do it, if any?

No skills.

Snowshoes allow you to move across ice and snow with only minor impediment. (all squares are difficult).

Skis allow normal movement along snow, and x4 speed on slight grades and x5 speed on major grades.

(You'd use Balance checks if hazards arrived, I expect).

Heh! I have argued, since 3e, that Rangers need Balance... Under the circumstances, Barbarians & Druids, too!
