Cruising Hulu I noticed that they carried some Fullmetal Alchemist episodes. Upon viewing a couple of them I was puzzled by how they contained characters (villains chiefly) that I don't recall. Then I noticed this series had "Brotherhood" tacked on at the end. I checked Wikipedia and it explained that this was a new series, but that's pretty much all it has to say about it (somebody needs to update that thing).
Anyone know what the deal is? Is this a reboot or prequel or what? I was initially guessing reboot since the original series was pretty complete, but with a reboot I'd expect some retooling of the characters and animation style at least a little in order to differentiate it from the original.
I look forward to finding time to watch these (without dubbing, viewing requires constant attention), since this is pretty much the best anime series I've seen, and the only one that even tempted to buy the DVD's.
