I've been thinking alot about the role of technology in a game session. Specificly in making adventures and worlds come to life. Mostly it would probably work for "modern" campaigns... but still...
For instance, what about creating say a fake website for a company that maybe players can interact with for clues?
Or email addresses for NPCs they encounter where the DM can respond with clues, or just have autoresponses set up?
Maybe even set up your answering machine or voice mail for the night to have a fake message on it that after entering in a code the players can listen to? (Like maybe incriminating evidence player can use?)
NPCs with business cards, and such...
Actual computer texts on CD or floppie...
I don't know... Just a thought. Anyone ever do things like that?
I guess it's just a variation on the props in the game idea.
